You Gotta Activate It ...
Updated: Mar 19, 2019
If you're currently taking turmeric assuming it's doing wonderful things for you, you may need to have a rethink. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is not very bio-available and needs to be activated. It requires heat, piperine (from black pepper) and a healthy fat to make it suitable for the body to absorb efficiently. By activating it in the following manner, it will become a therapeutic dose.
How To Make Activated Turmeric ..... Place half a cup of organic turmeric powder into a stainless steel saucepan with 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder and a cup of water. Stir to combine. Place over a medium heat and bring to a simmer. Slowly simmer for 10 minutes, stirring continuously and adding more water as needed. At the end of the 10 minutes, the paste should be the consistency of thick yoghurt. Place in a glass container to cool. Then cover and store in the fridge. Use this paste combined with a healthy fat and you have activated turmeric.
Ways to use Activated Turmeric (AT) -
